Centralian Beef Breeders Association Rabobank Junior Encouragement Award


Centralian Beef Breeders Association with support from Rabobank will once again encourage young people aged 8 to 18 years in the Beef Industry by awarding one recipient,$1000 , which goes toward them attending a heifer show interstate.

The Centralian Beef Breeders Association along with the Australian Beef Industry Foundation (ABIF) annually offers the opportunity for one local Central Australian youth to attend a one week Leadership Course at the Marcus Oldham College, in Geelong, Victoria in June each year. The scholarship is open to men and women aged 21 to 40 years of age who have a proven long-term commitment to the Beef Industry.

Perpetual Encouragement Award Guidelines

Sponsorship to attend a Heifer Show

1.     Children must nominate for the award with their parent’s consent and be aged between 12 – 18 years of age.

2.     Is a local entrant

3.     Not necessarily the best at showing but tries hard

4.     Has knowledge of the beast

5.     Exhibitors of animals at the show shall always deport themselves with honesty and good sportsmanship.

6.     Their conduct in this competitive environment shall always reflect the highest standards of honor and dignity to promote the advancement of agricultural events.

7.     Junior exhibitors are expected to care for and groom their animals while at the Show.

8.     Dress neatly and look like a livestock exhibitor

9.     Be alert and aware of the judge

10.      Remain calm, be patient and never get discouraged or lose your temper

11.      Congratulate the class winners and those who stood ahead of you or be a gracious winner and encourage those who stood below. Helps other competitors.

12.      Leave the ring after making your best effort. Has a good try

13.      Keen to learn, learns from mistakes, watches other exhibitors and improves their skills

14.      This award is expected to be spent within 3 years of it being awarded

15.      It is expected that a report of how the money was used to improve your skills is sent to the CBBA and Rabobank after your event.
