Below you will find all the information you require to enter into this years Virtual Show.

Class Information

Cattle Junior

Class 1
Hand reared, led Poddy Calf
1a) 10 yrs and under, calf 12 months or under
1b) 11 - 18 yrs, calf 12 months or under

Class 1 Rules & Regulations

  • Hand reared led poddy calf
  • One calf one handler
  • Short film or 2 photos of calf being led to demonstrate hand reared and child’s relationship with calf
  • Must submit short piece of information, which includes handlers name, calves names, breed and why their calf is special to them

Class 2
The Calf Classic
2a) 12 years and under, calf 12 months or under

Class 2 Rules & Regulations

  • Handler and poddy calf dressed up as any theme. Eg Batman and Robbin etc
  • Hand reared led poddy calf
  • Maybe same calf used by siblings but in different costumes
  • Short film or 2 photos of calf being led to demonstrate hand reared and child’s relationship with calf
  • Must submit short piece of information, which includes handlers name, calves names, breed and why their calf is special to them

Class 3
Drawing
A picture of your prize winning cow or bull at Showtime.
3a) 7 years and under
3b) 8 to 12 years
3c) 13 to 15 years

Class 3 Rules & Regulations 

  • Entries are limited to 1 per person
  • Drawing is to be in the theme of “Showtime Best Cow or Bull”
  • Drawing can only consist of pencils, crayons, highlighters and pens. A painting will not be accepted.
  • One photo of the exhibit is to be submitted for judging.

Class 4
Set the Scene - Showtime in the ring or mustering
4a) 7 years and under
4b) 8 to 12 years
4c) 12 to 15 years

Class 4 Rules & Regulations

  • Create a 3D scene of either cattle being shown at the Alice Springs Show or a Mustering cattle out on an NT cattle station
  • Take either 2 photos or a short video
  • Write a paragraph to explain what’s happening

Guess the Weight
5a) Guess the steer weight to the nearest KG

Class 5 Rules and Regulations

  • To enter this Class, comment on the Facebook post that will clearly outline this class.
  • One comment/entry per person
  • If more than one comment/entry is placed, the first comment will be the entry. The other comments/entries will not be considered
  • If multiple comments/entries are placed by different people with the same or neared to number, the first person that commented/entered will be the winner
  • Photo and film will be made available on Monday 1st of July via the CBBA Facebook page
  • If a comment is placed on a shared post, it will not be a valid entry. Be sure to comment only on the Official CBBA Facebook page post

Class 6
6a) Guess how many cattle in the yard

Class 6 Rules and Regulations

  • To enter this Class, comment on the Facebook post that will clearly outline this class.
  • One comment/entry per person
  • If more than one comment/entry is placed, the first comment will be the entry. The other comments/entries will not be considered

Where to Send your Entry Form & Exhibits

Terms & Conditions

  • Only NT and SA border district shall be eligible for entry
  • Age limits apply see individual class information and will be strictly followed
  • Entries are limited to 1 per person per category
  • Entries open Saturday 6th June 2020
  • Entries close Sunday 28th June 2020
  • Entries will be accepted via email only. If the file size is too large for email contact the CBBA for access to the Dropbox
  • No late entries will be accepted
  • All entries into the 2020 Virtual Competition must be completed during the competition time-frame
  • The work must be produced by the person whose name is on the entry form. Disqualification will occur if it is produced by someone else
  • The winner of each class will be contacted on the 4th of July via email
  • A Facebook post will be published with the winner of each class, name and photo of their exhibit
  • All entries will be uploaded on the CBBA website for judging by our selected judging panel
  • First, second and third prize in each category will receive a certificate, ribbon and  small prize
  • A prize will be supplied for the Guess the Weight competition depending on the winners geographical location
  • Prizes are not transferable and not redeemable for cash
  • The competition is free to enter
  • CBBA reserves the right to disqualify anyone or anything at any point throughout the period of the competition
  • A judge will make the final winning decisions. All decisions are final
